Recycled Furniture Turned Into Speakers

Sorry, this item has sold.

When you can't find reclaimed wood online you have to make your own. These speakers are built from wood and particle board reclaimed from furniture bought on Craig's List. The bulk of the components are from JBL 2500s from the 1980s and Made in the USA. I replaced the tweeter with a Dayton Audio DC28F-8 1-1/8" Silk Dome Tweeter from Parts Express. They sound fantastic! Here is a video with more information and some audio. https://youtu.be/ev4SipJLWkc

The front panel is made out of cherry that was reclaimed from an Ethan Allen bar console. This is some of the best cherry I have worked with. The rest of the speaker is particle board from a coffee table veneered in Cherry.

This is my first attempt at veneering and I did OK. There are some issues if you look closely (see pics). But it does not affect the sound. As a result I am selling these for a huge discount. Please let me know if you have any questions.

They were packed quite well, but FedEx managed to put a dent in one of the speakers. Seller was so responsive and was insistent and able to correct the issue regardless of the fact that this was a shipping issue. This seller stands behind their work and will not let you be unhappy.
