These beautiful speakers are based on the Ascend Acoustics Sierra-1. The components were acquired after a friend upgraded his original speakers to the Sierra-2. He gave me the internals of the -1 and now I have built an enclosure that adds a cool element to an already incredible speaker. The cabinets are made out of reclaimed wood from barns all across the USA. The front panel is made from an early 1900s Ethan Allen dining table that was completely destroyed. I re-milled the wood and used it in the front panel. The cabinet is made up of Walnut, American Chestnut, Maple, Poplar, and Cherry.
These speakers sound amazing! They have a really good bass response. I added a 6 ohm resistor to the tweeter because I thought they were a bit bright. You can remove it it you want to add a bit more brightness to the speakers. The original specifications are:
Typical In-Room Frequency Response 39Hz - 22kHz
Typical In-Room Sensitivity 89dB @ 2.83v / 1 meter
Nominal Impedance 8 ohms
Max Continuous Power* 200 watts
Max Short Term Peak Power* 350 watts
Dimensions H x W x D** 14.25" x 7.5" x 10.5"
